The Heaven Can Wait program is a way for us to to cover extraordinary expenses for veterinary care for rescue dogs & cats who need heartworm treatment, surgery to remove tumors or for orthopedic problems, accident treatment, and other veterinary treatments which go beyond the usual shots, neuter or spay, and heartworm testing. How many times do you bring in a injured animal to a vet and there is no money to help this poor creature and you get turned away.

You will notice a need for an "Angel Buddy" on our listings As a "Angel Buddy"  you can lend a hand to a cat or dog in need.  We provide veterinary care for our dogs & cats including making sure that they are spayed or neutered, current on their shots, microchipped, checked for heartworm or FIV if its a cat, provided with monthly heartworm preventative, Frontline flea treatments and given any other necessary veterinary care while in our care.  Some of our Rescues have serious or unusual medical conditions and require extensive treatment. Our requested adoption donation does not cover the cost of those treatments and so having a "Angel Buddy" helps defray the cost of those types of treatments.

To become a "Angel Buddy" first pick your rescue from those listed  If somebody else is already listed as a "Angel Buddy" for that rescue, don’t worry—more than one Buddy is welcome.  If one dog or cat is so fortunate that his or her Angel Buddies provide more than is required for that dog’s care, then we will share any excess with the other rescues and at the Heaven Can Wait Program Fund.

After picking your "Angel Buddy", mail your tax deductible check or money order to:

Your name, address, email & phone so we can contact you.
Whether it’s okay for us to include your name and if you wish, your city and state of residence on our web page, in our newsletter, and in other publications.

The other part of "The Heaven Can Wait Program" is collection/donation containers at local Veterinary Offices. So many times people come in with an animal that isn't theirs to be treated, just being good Samaritans and helping an injured cat or dog, but with no money to treat, most are euthanized or turned away.  So with our Collection Cans at local Veterinarians along with the direct donations for this program we can help those less fortunate.  Please mark checks with "Heaven Can Wait Program" to help.
